Utopia Haze

Utopia Haze is a backcross of a prized selection of Brazilian landrace strains, boasting a strong Sativa dominance, a powerfully relaxing high, and a tasty finish. At the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2008, Utopia Haze won Best Sativa and Best Strain Overall, ensuring its place in history as a favorite for any Sativa-lover. It was bred from Brazilian Sativa and Grass Dream strains by Barney’s Farm, the folks behind Critical Kush and Gorilla Zkittlez.

After a carefully selective three-year breeding process, Utopia Haze ended up with compact, dark forest green buds with a furry coat of amber pistils and small, sand-colored trichomes. The plant itself is huge, growing up to 130cm with broad branches and a sturdy look overall. Its hard buds yield generously, often producing 650g per square meter. We recommend this strain only for experienced growers, however, as its highly Sativa-dominant growing structure requires quite a bit of pruning. The strain takes about 70-75 days to finish flowering.

The high of the Utopia Haze strain is immediately strong and uplifting, giving you cerebral sensations deep in your body, heavily relaxed and hazy. You’ll feel calm and eventually sleepy-sedated on this strain, which is why we recommend keeping your Utopia till the evening when you can best enjoy its sensations without worrying about getting back to work. Its THC levels hang out around 20%.

The flavor of the strain is very spicy-sweet at first, garnering a flavor profile of citrus fruit with hints of herbs like mint. The aftertaste and aroma turn earthy and woody as the nugs burn. Utopia Haze isn’t without sweetness, but those looking for a sweet strain should steer clear since the bud gets pretty spicy and herbal at a moment’s notice. It also contains as much as 0.8% CBD, which is something else to consider.

On this strain, you’ll feel clear-headed, creative, and inspired. At first, you’ll feel a burst of talkative energy and crave writing or drawing, brainstorming with your best friends, or listening to music. As you continue to smoke, however, the energy will fade into sleepy sedation and feelings of relaxation.
