Dutch Delight

The Dutch take a lot of pride in their innovations with cannabis. A beaming example of this is the strain Dutch Delight. This old school power house combines the heavy yields of Big Bud with the knockout high of Afghani with a little Skunk #1 thrown in for flavor. Bred by The Flying Dutchmen seed bank back when Amsterdam was leading the scene in cannabis genetic innovation, this mastercraft strain can still be found today. 

Dutch Delight has been refined by the breeders to have 90% indica genetics. This makes for a shorter plant that does great in small areas and cramped grow rooms. While having a shorter and stouter appearance, the buds can get comically large. These large colas glisten with trichomes like sugar crystals on a stroopwafel. The aroma of funky fruit oozes out and tickles the senses.

This strains mother was Big Bud, so get ready for some serious heft on the flowering branches. A trellis will most definitely be required for an indoor grow. Boasting so much indica genetics, be prepared to deleaf this plant multiple times during its flowering cycle to insure that lower branches receive enough light to mature. Dutch Delight was bred to finish quickly in about 7-8 weeks. 

Upon your first taste of Dutch Delight the overpowering flavor of sweet fruit coats the palate. Sharp citrus undertones give way to an intriguing, sort of astringent aftertaste that adds a delightful surprise to the thick smoke. The air around you takes on a pleasant “lemon-pie in the oven” quality as the fragrant aroma fills the space.
