About Triple Kush

The Indica-dominant strain called Triple Kush has famous parents but a will to break out on its own. It was bred by Karma Genetics out of Amsterdam from SFV OG Kush and White Fire #6 (a phenotype of White Fire OG), meaning its genetic lineage has OG Kush as a grandparent on both sides, along with Hindu Kush and Chemdawg and some seriously powerful Afghani landrace strains. From that heritage, you shouldn’t be surprised to learn that Triple Kush is potent and popular, with effects to match its spirit-lifting spicy flavors. Keep reading to learn what you can expect to happen when you put your stress in harm’s way of this freight train of calming, chemmy goodness.

The terpene profile of Triple Kush creates an onset that’s surprisingly sweet compared to its parents, with a kick of Limonene lemon flavor that progresses to spicy wood flavors on the exhale. As you smoke, the aroma transforms, bringing out scents of pine, sweet earth, and spicy-herbal citrus. The strain is nose-curling from the first puff to the last, but smooth and enjoyable. A THC level of 16% on average helps welcome newcomers to the strain’s strength without leaving the planet. Meanwhile, expert consumers will still feel a major kick in the stress glands once Triple Kush starts to take effect.

The strain itself flowers in around 70 days when grown indoors, yielding well with a strong branch structure that requires pruning but not a lot of fancy techniques. The plant grows bright green nugs that are round and small among leaves as dark as green olives. The pistils are bright amber and the crystals are thick and light purple in color, like a coat of lavender frost. This strain should not be confused with Triple OG by Humboldt.

As for its effects, Triple Kush is reported to make consumers feel lifted and warm. Its calming effect starts in the head but moves gradually to the rest of the body, bringing a sense of spirit-lifting euphoria, settling stressful thoughts, and making you forget your troubles. The strain is known for what yogis call “grounding,” which means that it feels rooted and still, connected to the space around you. This can do wonders for a long evening at home at the end of a stressful, moody, and depressing week.

Cannabis consumers come to Triple Kush for the genetics and the spicy Kush flavors but stay for the calming, spirit-lifting effects. We recommend saving this strain for the early or late evening when a little sleepiness will do you good.
