About Krampus

The Krampus strain is named for a horned monster that plagues children’s Christmas seasons in Alpine folklore. The creature, who is the dark shadow of Santa Claus, is a demonic goat-like creature with a long tongue who comes to children to punish them for their bad behavior. The strain that takes his name is diesel-infused, earthy, cheesy, and all kinds of wonderful skunky qualities. But ironically, its main effect is a feeling of happiness and joy, like Christmas. Its heritage is a combination between Mickey Kush and a mom from Mexico, potentially an Old Man or Acapulco strain. This makes Krampus a part of the diesel lineage of all family strains, dating back to the 80s. Keep reading to learn more about this mischievous strain.

Krampus is easy to grow and has a high trichome production that makes it a great candidate for resin-rich hash. Its buds come in hard and tight, growing closely in compact clusters like grapes. The strain is sativa-dominant with mid level THC percentages, bred by Tatewari Tactical, a well-known breeder based in Oregon. We recommend growing the strain wherever you need to as it adapts to weather easily in both outdoor and indoor conditions.

Growing Tips: Despite being easy to grow, Krampus still needs a little help. We recommend keeping its temperature balanced in the mid-60s to 70s and not letting it get to either extreme. Despite being a scary goat monster, Krampus needs to be watered every day as well because it gets stressed easily, especially right before the flowering stage (maybe it’s all the coal he has to deliver). The strain needs 12-20 hours of direct sunlight too, so be sure to stay on top of it.

The Krampus strain has an overtone of earthy pine flavor, mixed with a diesel aftertaste. Its stimulating effects work on both your mind and body, taking you out of a state of stress and racing negativity and giving you a hyped-up relaxation. Users describe the strain as joyful and uplifting, ironically the exact opposite impression of what they feel in the presence of the dark anti-lord of Christmas.

We recommend this strain for hard workers who get so stressed out that they feel it in their heads, bodies and bones. The strain doesn’t have many reported negative effects, but some users suggest that in high doses, paranoia can be an issue. Krampus, the demon, doesn’t care what you do with your dreams. Thankfully, Krampus the strain is only out to make them better.
